Spring is nearly here, but it’s never too early to start your spring cleaning checklist! But, we know you’re a busy person, and with so many things to get done before Spring is over, your vehicle is probably at the bottom of your list. But Younger Mitsubishi is here to tell you that your vehicle maintenance shouldn’t be overlooked! This week we’re focusing on why it’s so important to change your air filters. Take a look at all that information below and if you don’t have the time or tools to take on the job yourself, don’t wait to schedule your service appointment here at the Younger Mitsubishi Service Center today!

Why You Should Replace Your Vehicle’s Filters:

Old Filters Aren’t As Efficient.

  • Believe it or not, a dirty or clogged air filter is doing major damage to your fuel efficiency. Your mileage could be drastically cut because of a clogged air filter. It can also lead to your heater or air conditioning unit becoming clogged as well since all that dirt and debris need to go somewhere. This can result in hefty repair costs down the road.

Spring Pollen Can Be A Real Problem.

  • When you’re out and about you don’t want to be breathing in allergens and pollen, do you? That’s why it is so important to change out your air filter. We recommend changing your filter at the end of pollen season and making sure before Spring hits that your filter is clean and hasn’t deteriorated. A broken down air filter will allow dirt, dust, pollen, and other allergens to enter the cabin.

A Clean Filter Means Better Breathing.

  • Spring weather can change drastically. You might end up needing to use your air conditioner one day and the heat the next. Those unpredictable weather changes can put a lot of strain on your air filter which eventually leads to the breakdown of said filter. If your filter has begun to deteriorate, the allergens are just coming straight through your filter and into your vehicle’s cabin. We recommend changing your filter at least every 12,000 to 15,000 miles and checking up on it at the beginning of each new season!
