If you are anything like me, your car tends to become a black hole for things you should’ve thrown out months ago. Also, you may be a little on the unorganized side. But hey, that’s alright we are here to help with that. This week’s blog is dedicated to cleaning out your car and staying organized.

Step #1: Get rid of all that trash! It’s hard to organize if there is a big ol’ mess in the way. You’d be surprised what has been left behind, swept under the seat, or even in plain sight. Grab a trash bag or two and tackle the mess growing within your doors! Use one bag for actual trash and another for things that you plan on keeping.

Step #2: Give your car some TLC, the works. Bumper to bumper, door to door. A car wash, vacuum, and some clean windows are a great way to help your car stay organized longer. Add an air freshener to give you that clean springtime smell!

Step #3: Recognize that trash and clutter are inevitable. Plan a way to dispose of garbage when you’re in the car. Plastic grocery bags are a great, quick idea to toss when you get to where you’re going. Keep your new trash bin in an easily accessible spot, nothing is worse than having someplace to put garbage but no one using it because they can’t reach it.

Step #4: Organize, organize, organize. Start with your glove box, this little compartment is notorious for being an exploding mess. A coupon organizer is a perfect fit and a great way to keep your documents, emergency numbers, and information organized and quickly accessible. Keeping receipts and bills in an envelope is another great way to stay organized and you can clean them out when you have spare time. Your trunk is the biggest space that tends to become an unorganized mess. Shower caddies are a great solution to this problem. Or a storage net. This will help keep your belongings in place and in place while you journey on.

And, look at that, you’re clean and organized for the miles to come!
