We never expect for anything bad to happen to us but unfortunately, everyday bad things happen to people whether it’s minor or more serious that’s why it’s always a good idea to be prepared. A good driver will always be prepared, make sure your car is equipped with a homemade emergency kit. By making the kit yourself instead of buying it from a store, is you can tailor it to weather around you, have specific items or you and the family, and create multiple kits for backups. The best part of making your own kit? You know exactly what’s inside!

 

What to Pack in Your Kit:

 

  • First aid (For more minor accidents)
    • Band-Aids
    • Hand sanitizer.
    • Antiseptic.
    • Antibiotic ointment.
    • Bug spray.
    • Aspirin (or similar).
    • Cotton balls.
    • Gauze pads.
    • Tweezers.
    • Bandana.
    • Ace bandage.

*This one might be best kept inside the vehicle in a place like the glove compartment*

 

  • Fire extinguisher (For more serious accidents)
    • Choose a smaller one that is easy to store
  • Jumper cables.
  • Rain Ponchos.
  • Flashlight and extra batteries.
  • Scent-free baby wipes.
  • Drinking water and non-perishable snacks.
